Tips for enhancing relaxation with Guided audio recordings
During deep relaxation practice, your mind becomes saturated with the positive suggestions. When you listen to the track every day, eventually the repetition of these suggestions seems so real, as they become imprinted and embedded into your subconscious mind. The subconscious comes to accept them and create belief. Confidence in achieving the desired outcome is naturally developed through this practice.
a) This relaxation track has a hypnotic pattern. Please DO NOT listen to this track while in a moving vehicle or while doing an activity that requires attention. Listen to the track when you are completely distraction free and in a relaxed state. If a situation arises that demands your attention, in between your practice, you will return to complete awareness and you can slip right back in again easily.
b) In a short time, you will develop the ability to slip, almost unnoticed, into a deep level of calm and it will become “second nature”. Each time you listen to this track, you will achieve an even deeper level of relaxation, more easily and more quickly than you have previously.
c) You may hear normal sounds of activities around you while listening to this track. It is common for this to happen. You can simply allow the sounds to just fade into the background, or you can use the noises as an impetus to go deeper into relaxation by refocusing on your breath and sinking deeper on the next exhale.
d) You may find yourself engaging in a little self-talk at the beginning of your practice – thinking about the voice on the recording, listening to the words, wondering when you will begin to feel as though you are in hypnosis… That too, will disappear as you learn that there is no particular feeling to hypnosis, except comfort and relaxation.
e) If you find a word or a phrase that you don’t feel entirely comfortable with, simply feel free to rearrange the wording, select a substitute that you feel is more suited to you, and continue your relaxation with ease.
f) As you practice, your conscious mind may choose to listen in and you’ll hear everything on the recording, or it may drift in and out, or it may just rest, and you’ll hear nothing.
g) It’s the total rest option that sometimes causes people to think that they have fallen asleep. Actually, it is helpful to reach this level of relaxation, where you are able to shut out all distractions and enter a state that is very much like sleep. Whichever of the three states your conscious mind adopts, it will have no bearing on the effectiveness of your practice. The subconscious is where the memory is located. It hears everything.
